Helen has been interested in invertebrates, their ecology and the environment since early childhood. Her interest in invertebrate conservation was particularly kindled in 1980 by an article in New Scientist. Her hobby and role in invertebrate conservation involves photographing life cycles. In 1992 she co-authored and produced "Butterfly Magic" (now out of print) and in 1994 founded the Butterfly & Other Invertebrates Club, of which she was the President until 2006. Her other interests lie in the field of adult and community education.

Co-founder Frank has been involved in butterfly gardening for many years and involved with the Butterfly & Other Invertebrates Club since its inception. Frank was also a co-author of "Butterfly Magic".
Frank, along with Helen, is involved with the enhancement and regeneration of the Woodford Folk Festival site, and presents walks and talks during the Woodford Folk Festival.
Frank is no longer directly involved with Earthling Enterprises.
